You can go whale watching with Hayden Panettiere. For a price. Hayden decided to auction off a date with herself for you (the winning bidder) and some friends to go and watch whales. How nice! All proceeds go to charity.

Last year, Hayden got arrested for protesting the whale trade in Japan where innocent dolphins get caught in nets. Now she is taking a better approach to protesting, by giving money. From Angry Ape:

All proceeds from the lucky winning bids will go towards The Whaleman Foundation, and if you want to be the lucky winner who gets to meet Hayden and her marine mammal friends, you’d better get bidding – as the auction will end on Friday 4th September.

I think this is a clever way to raise some money and have fun in the process. Kudos to Hayden for keeping this issue in the front of people’s minds.
