Paula Abdul Wanted $20 Million
News surfaced this morning that Paula Abdul won’t be returning to American Idol, and details are slowly trickling out. For starters, certain news publications are reporting that Paula wanted $20 million big ones before she inked another contract.

Paula was making $2 million on the previous season of Idol, and The New York Times says they were willing to give her an addition $8 million, which would bump up her salary to $10 million. However, this wasn’t enough for Abdul who had watched her co-star, Ryan Seacrest ink a deal for $45 million. A spokesman for Fox Broadcasting, Fremantle Media and 19 Entertainment said:
Paula Abdul has been an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”
