Nicole Richie has a health scare after learning of ex-fiance Adam Goldstein’s death. Nicole is due to deliver her second child any day and the stress of losing her friend was almost too much for her.

Nicole was with Adam for two years before they broke up in 2006. That’s a lot of time and it really wasn’t that long ago. According to Ace Showbiz:

Celebrity socialite Nicole Richie “almost collapsed in grief” when she first learned about the sudden death of her ex-fiance DJ AM. An insider tells Star Magazine, the pregnant reality TV star “said she felt like her heart stopped for a few minutes,” forcing her doctor to rush to her house to check on her condition.

“Adam was the one who got her to straighten up,” a source chimes in when referring to how the late spinner helped Nicole giving up her addiction to drugs. “She never thought he’d come to this. She’s horrified and regrets that she didn’t reach out and help him.”

DJ Am’s death is a horrible tragedy because he had been doing so well, but I don’t know if Nicole could have done anything for him. His demons were so powerful, he wouldn’t let his manager in to his apartment in the last days of his life. Sad indeed. Hopefully Nicole is resting OK!
