Chaz Bono talks about how he feels being a man. Meet Chaz Bono, formally known as Chastity, the child of Cher and the late Sonny Bono. Chaz, 40 is in the midst of a sex change to become a man. Bono is opening up in a two-part interview with Entertainment Tonight aired yesterday night and tonight to discuss his sex reassignment surgery and facing puberty at age 40 via Pop Eater

Bono is undergoing female-to-male gender transition and has been taking male hormones since March. Although the physical changes will take about four to five years to complete but so far it has already done a lot noticeable physical changes.

“It lowered my voice. Fat redistributes, muscle growth, hair growth, sex drive increases.” – via Pop Eater

Bono says, “I believe that gender is something between your ears not between your legs. That is something I discovered in the early ’90s. It was just a long process of being comfortable enough to do something about it. I was turning 40, and I thought it’s now or never. I want to still feel vibrant and be able to enjoy my life in a male body and not wait until I am an old man.”

Bono says after 40 years, he is finallly enjoying life as a man.

It’s Chaz’ life and that’s the decision he’s made. We all have to do what makes us happy, right?
