Criminal Charges are likely to be filed in the case of the Balloon Boy case according to Sheriff of Colorado. Although the sheriff won’t say who will be charged. I am very sure it’s not going to be charged against an innocent 6-year-old. (Video of the Sheriff announcement below)
Sheriff Jim Alderden – who won’t say who would be charged – told reporters: “We were looking at Class 3 misdemeanor, which hardly seems serious enough given the circumstances. We are talking to the district attorney, federal officials to see if perhaps there aren’t additional federal charges that are appropriate in this circumstance.”
Asked if it was hoax, Alderden said, “We have made progress and you guys can read between the lines about what we found.” – via US Magazine
In case if you missed the story. The Heenes’ homemade flying saucer was untethered on Oct 15 and it was feared that 6-year-old-son Falcon Heene had helplessly floated away on it only to be found hiding in his attic hours later. Speculation grows that the family orchestrated the publicity stunt with Falcon saying “You Guys said that.. We did it for the Show” when asked why he didn’t come out when everyone was looking for him.
The parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene have appeared on Wife Swap twice. Both parents are known storm chasers who pitched a reality show to TLC months ago. They have denied the incident was a hoax.
