Sources close to Jessica Simpson and Gerard Butler say there’s ‘nothing romantic’ going on between the two stars. Earlier today, the earth-shattering news (oh my!) broke that Jessica and Gerard were spotted at NYC hot spot Soho House.

No kissing or heavy petting (damn us!) but the two (are you sitting down?) “chatted for hours.” Uh oh. You know what that means. Well, apparently it means just that. Those close to Jessica, say she Gerard, and BFF Ken Paves say there isn’t anything romantic going on with the pair.

They are, as they like to say in Tinseltown “just friends.”

On a sidenote, Gerard has done an excellent job of getting his name out there. He’s figured out that sitting next to Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston is practically an assurance of media babble.
