Lindsay Lohan’s dad has backtracked on the kidnap comment. Michael Lohan was blabbing to the press like usual and was boasting that he would kidnap his daughter to get her to rehab, if that’s what it took to clean her up. Then we people jumped on him about it – namely, Lindsay sought a restraining order – he rescinded his comment.

Michael is probably trying to sound noble and get a conservatorship on his daughter like Jamie Spears did on Britney Spears. Except Michael and Lindsay haven’t had a good relationship in years. And Jamie never talks to the press. From Newsday:

Michael Lohan, in a conversation with Newsday, backed off his strong language, saying he never meant that he would take his daughter anywhere against her will.

“I just meant I’d like to detox her myself . . . but of course I’d get arrested,” he said.

“People will twist my words to mean what they want,” he said. “The bottom line is, Lindsay needs help, and no one wants to do anything.”

It’s obvious Lindsay needs help, especially if she is making out with Balthazar Getty. Gross. Someone besides Michael needs to step up to the plate though…Lindsay isn’t going to listen to him.
