Jessica Simpson recently Twittered to the masses that Melrose Place is crap, suggesting that her recently fired sister, Ashlee, is too good for the series. Ashlee Simpson (much to EVERYBODY’s chagrin) scored a role on the revamped Melrose Place on the CW. It only took a few short months before producers realized she couldn’t act and fired her.

Jessica took to The Mighty Twitter and proclaimed:
“CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”
While producers tried to cover their own behinds by saying Ashlee was never meant to be a permanent cast member, ultimately her dismissal was because she was “embarrassingly bad.”
Sources at usmagazine.com said:
“They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz,” a set insider told Us Weekly. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible…She’s the worst actress, but nobody will tell her.”
Sigh. What’s Papa Joe gonna do now? His Simpson girl empire is crumbling! Ashlee should just throw in the towel on this artsy thing she’s been trying (and failing) to do and just design a line of crap for Hot Topic with Pete Wentz.
