Paula Deen saw pigs fly. Or at least part of a pig. Paula was donating a truck full of hams to a homeless shelter when one went astray. Volunteers were thinking of making the process a bit more fun and started throwing the hunks of meat – before Paula stepped in the way. Oops.

Paula got in the way of the hams, it seems. She took one full on the nose! From US Weekly:

Deen, 62, was helping unload a truck load of hams at Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless to make a Thanksgiving donation on behalf of Smithfield Foods when someone playfully threw a ham.

It missed the storage bucket and ended up hitting the Food Network star on the head and nose, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Deen was “startled at first, but quickly regained focus and kept her humor,” says her rep. “She’s okay now and is icing her face.”

Ouch! I bet that hurt. At least Paula was good humored about it and didn’t come up like a raging, screaming diva yelling!
