Brittany Murphy’s father is not attending is daughter’s funeral today. Brittany will be laid to rest in the Hollywood Hills, marking a rather somber Christmas Eve. Angelo Bertolotti, Brittany’s recently estranged father, says he had no idea his daughter was ill and has never even met her much-older husband, Simon Monjack.

While we read in several sites that Bertolotti wasn’t invited to the funeral (how sad), he tells Eonline.com that he has opted not to attend the ceremony.
“If I wanted to go, I would go, but I don’t want to see her that way,” he says. “She was flawless to me. She was a little bright child. I have only good memories about her. She’s a memory to me now. To me she’s off making a movie somewhere.”
He claims to be shocked that Murphy was taking prescription medication, saying he never knew she had any health problems other then diabetes.
