GLAAD backs ABCs decision to ban Adam Lambert from their live New Year’s Eve gig. Jimmy Kimmell is the host, but he had nothing to do with the decision. ABC contacted GLAAD and gave them their reasoning behind the boot for Adam and they agreed.

More pictures of Adam after the ban…
ABC decided to cancel his gig because he strays from his scripted performances too much for their comfort. Adam kissing men or doing more simulated oral sex could land them several thousands of dollars in fines from the FCC if they aren’t careful. From TMZ:
ABC sent a statement to GLAAD, explaining how Adam’s removal was “not a question of Lambert’s sexual orientation” but was instead because his live performance at the AMAs differed “greatly” from rehearsals and “caught the network off guard” — which is justification for dropping him from other live shows.
How much punishment is Adam going to have to take from that one performance? Do you think it is a fair reason or is he being unjustly punished?

Adam being banned now and possibly in the future is ABSOLUTELY fair! People have got to realize that, even in this day and age, actions cause reactions. As a gay man myself, I am glad (no pun intended) that ABC approached GLAAD and they understand and agree with the ban.
One can’t go on tv, do what they want, and say they got caught in the moment. That’s akin to asking for forgiveness rather than permission. If he wants to cause controversy, let him suffer the the consequenses for his actions. He knew exactly what he was going to do once the cameras were rolling at the music awards. He knew they weren’t going to just stop the cameras because they had no idea what he had planned and he CHOSE to push buttons.
Good for ABC and good for GLAAD.
