Jake Gyllenhall shed his Mr. Witherspoon image and made several jokes about having sex with Anne Hathaway on Jay Leno last night. Jake is rumored to be splitting with Reese Witherspoon, so of course the media jumped all over these playful assertions (yours truly).

Jake told Leno (via usmagazine.com):
“[I'm] making a movie with Annie Hathaway, and we’ve been having a lot of love scenes in that movie,” he said of the 2010 film Love and Other Drugs. “And we’ve been baring almost all of us… So, that’s not been that bad, either. We were pretty much naked but for a merkin.”
In case you don’t know, a “merkin” was (thanks to Jake‘s definition): “a device that prostitutes used to wear when they shaved their pubic hair in the 16th century … because they thought they had crabs.”
