Meredith Baxter Now A Lesbian
Meredith Baxter is a lesbian. Meredith Baxter, the matriarch of Family Ties, officially came out of the closet this week. Baxter has been living with girlfriend, Nancy Locke, for the past two years but kept her sexuality on the down low until she was spotted on a lesbian cruise last month.

Baxter has been married three times and has five children. She told The Advocate that getting sober, dealing with her mother’s death, a third divorce and breast cancer pushed her over to the lesbian side. She says the reactions she’s received have all been very positive.
I’ve been married three times, and I have a slew of children, but I’ve never felt that kind of connection before in that kind of awakening. It was very profound for me,” Baxter said of her revelation. “I am still the same person. I’m nonthreatening, I’m very friendly, I’m accessible, and if they can say, “OK, well, she’s a lesbian, maybe that’s not such a scary thing. And if she can come out and say that without too much fear, then maybe I can do that.”
