Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol. It’s the end of a pop cultural era! The sneery, laser-eyed judge who halved egos and dismissed aspiring performers with an eye roll and insult, is leaving at the end of next year so he can 100% commit to the British show, X-Factor.

The only snag? Cowell hasn’t himself admitted this little indiscretion. So how did we find out. You can thank his brother for that. As RadarOnline.com reports:
“A press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everybody expected: Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of X Factor to U.S. TV in 2011.”
While Cowell has yet to “yay” or “nay” this admission, he’s talked about cutting back and focusing on only one show in the past.
