Christina Hendricks told New York magazine she wishes the public would stop focuing on her body. Christina got her big break in the AMC series Mad Men and has since been bombarded with analysis of her hourglass figure. Which of course isn’t awful, but she wishes people would focus on her acting abilities.

more Christina after the hop…

She told New York Magazine:

“It kind of hurt my feelings at first,” she says. “Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous, you get really self-conscious. I was working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone was talking about was my body! It might sound silly,” she says, “but I didn’t realize I was so different. I was just oblivious. Sometimes I would go on an audition and someone would say something like, Girl, you’re refreshing! That was it.”

We for one hope all this body obsession with Christina Hendricks can finally stop already. She isn’t a size 2 and she isn’t overweight, magazines just need to get over it already.
