Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics is here but where is the snow? Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics kicks off on Friday, February 12th but mother nature hasn’t been really helpful, Vancouver has NO snow! Some reports are saying this is the warmest January ever registered in Vancouver or at least one of the very rare warmest months of January on records!

Most of the events will be held up in Whistler which is two hours north from the city center, Whistler although relatively warm this year is still having a good amount of snowfall. The problem is there is absolutely no snow in the city of Vancouver, snowboarding and freestyle skiing, these two events are being held on Cypress mountain on the North Shore of the city. Organizers have been buzy trucking in snow to prepare for the courses.

I still think it will be an amazing experience knowing how much work the city has been undergoing for the past 10 years. As for the snow, they will have it all rolled out on the courses one way or the other, that much I believe.

This is not the first time a Winter Olympics has ever faced a lack of snow. When mother nature acts a certain way, we just have to accept it and do whatever is necessary.

As for photo: I took it over the summer also on one of the local mountains, it’s a Grizzly bear in captivity up Grouse mountain. Don’t worry, you don’t see them running around in the streets!
