Farrah Fawcett’s omission from the In Memorium at the Oscars was not accidental. Farrah and Bea Arthur were both left off the montage that highlighted 30 of Hollywood’s stars, crew, agents and whoever else belongs to the Academy.  After complaints, however, the Academy explained it wasn’t an accident.

More pictures of Farrah after the protest…

Friends and family members are planning to protest and write letters, but really, what good will that do? From the USA Today:

“It was a terrible decision and very hurtful,” O’Neal tells Radar Online. “Farrah was a member of the Academy for over 40 years and we could not believe she did not get a mention.” Patrick Swayze, Michael Jackson and Brittany Murphy were included in the segment.

Leslie Unger, a rep for the Academy, tells Radar that “unfortunately we don’t include everyone.” She told E!, it was “not an oversight.”

She also said there were over 100 names and only 30 could be broadcast live. Why can’t they just make the live performances shorter so all 100 can be mentioned so there isn’t a snub like Farrah’s in the future?
