Gabourey Sidibe is a “joke” in the fashion world. Or so says some silly “insider” who claims Gaby will never cover a fashion magazine because she’s too large. While it was a semi-slap in the face Gaby wasn’t included in the Vanity Fair ‘Young Hollywood’ cover (no ethnic actors were), one of Anna Wintour‘s chilly peons said the actress is a joke amongst the snide and snooty because of her size. What is is this? High school?

more Gabby after the hop…
The icelandic fashionista told sources she wasn’t included in Vogue because pretty clothes aren’t for plus-sized people:
“She’s a joke in the fashion community. What she wore on the red carpet at the Academy Awards wasn’t a dress, it was a tent,” one nasty little fashion queen (who I shall not be talking with again) told me.
“Vogue is venue where designers debut their best new pieces. All are of which are one of a kind and sample size. It would be impossible to get a regular-sized girl in those clothes, let alone Gabby.”
Can we round up all these fashion people and send them to The Island. Pleeeaaase.

i think gaby is very talented but unfortunently she is in hollywood where it’s all about looks. back when precious first came out, people were talking about how her career wouldn’t go anywhere because of her size and here it is years later and we haven’t seen her in anything else. it sucks, but the cold hard truth about hollywood is that it’s all about size, youth, beauty and sometimes even race. jennifer hudson is a classic example of how prejiduce hollywood is of bigger people- she has said several times that the offers started pouring in after she lost all that weight. no matter what though, i wish gaby all the best. such a talented girl and it really is a shame that her weight has held her back.
