Jessica Simpson’s Price of Beauty debuted last night and the critics called her an ugly American. Jessica has been making the talk show circuit to discuss the VH-1 show she created with hairstylist Ken Paves and best friend Cacee Cobb for the past few weeks now. The verdict? Simpson is an embarrassment to America!

Of course, we could have told you that but critics are appalled at how Simpson and her friends acted when they traveled to Thailand to eat bugs and meditate with a monk. The girls shrieked after trying a cultural delicacy and couldn’t keep a straightface during a prayer service. Humiliating, indeed.

“Soon enough it’s clear that Simpson and her friends are on a trip around the world to make jokes and get free spa treatments. Sure, “The Price of Beauty” tries to serious things up a bit (they visit a woman who irreparably burned her face in search of the Thai ideal of pale beauty; they go out to visit those tribal women who elongate their necks using heavy rings), but these efforts fall flat.
At best, “The Price of Beauty” reminds you of the most clueless of ugly Americans…”
Poor Jessica. She just can’t seem to score a hit. Well, her clothing line is doing well. Perhaps she should just stick to shoes.
