Lady Gaga covered the latest issue of New York magazine and told the publication ‘pop stars don’t eat.’ The interview takes place over a year long span where the reporter meets Gaga when she first inches her way up and then continues the interview a year later after accumulating some serious critical acclaim (and press) not to mention a Grammy nomination.

more Gaga after the hop…

According to the magazine, Gaga spends a lot of time talking in a robotic voice and making sure to keep her sunglasses on the entire time. Ugh. How obnoxious. Among the may pretentious things Gaga ga ga-ed perhaps the worst was her opinion that real pop stars don’t eat. From Jezebel.com:

“In high school, “I was fifteen to twenty pounds heavier than I am now,” says Gaga. “I would wear shirts that were low-cut, and the teachers would tell me I couldn’t wear them, and I’d point to another girl who was wearing the same thing. ‘Well, it looks different on her.’ It wasn’t fair… At that time, my breasts were much bigger, and firm, and delicious.” Now she proclaims: “Pop stars should not eat,” and a friend claims “dancing, diet pills, and one real meal a day was the way she finally lost weight.”

Don’t you think these remarks send the wrong images to women? Should Gaga shed her costumes and perhaps release a statement telling women that, yes, you can still eat and be a pop star?
