The mother and son died from asphyxiation in their family home. Chris then hung himself and committed suicide.
The Supreme Court has ruled that Nancy’s family can file lawsuit against Hustler magazine over nude pictures of Nancy taken when she was 20-year-old. The rag published those nude photos of Nancy Benoit in March 2008, she was 43 at the time of the murder.
Her family filed a federal lawsuit against the Larry Flynt Publishing Group, Hustler’s publisher, claiming that Nancy had changed her mind about the nude pictures and had asked the photographer to destroy the images immediately after they were shot. Today that decision has been overturned.
A federal judge ruled in the magazine’s favor back in October 2008, concluding that the rag had a right to publish the photos because of what they called a “legitimate matter of public interest and concern.”
I think it’s great that Nancy’s family goes to great lengths to protect her image. R.I.P.
