Sidney Crosby saved the day for the Canadians by winning men’s hockey against the US in the Winter Olympics yesterday during a nerve wrecking overtime on Sunday. This puts Canada’s total gold medals to 14 which is an all-time record in Olympic history. Thank you Crosby.

It was an incredible game and what made it more incredible is that it had to be Crosby who saved the day.
Steve Yzerman, the organizer of Team Canada 2010, the guy who laid the blueprint for Canada’s record-setting 14th gold medal at the event could tell you that Crosby is a very special guy.
Yzerman himself was one of the best Canadian-born players. He won Stanley Cups and Olympic gold medals.
But he never had a moment like the one Crosby had on Sunday which literally saved the nation from having an emotional breakdown. If you didn’t know hockey is the game in Canada, it isn’t just a game.
“He’s got a little bit of destiny to him,” Yzerman said, shaking his head slowly. “It’s another monumental moment in his career. He’s a special, special guy. Like (Wayne) Gretzky.” – via The Star
Crosby, he’s just 22; the captain of NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. Crosby won his first Stanley Cup in 2009 making him the youngest captain in NHL history to win the championship. Is he the new Wayne Gretzky? You better believe it.
