Amy Mickelson is Phil Mickelson‘s wife. Amy who’s suffering from breast cancer had been in bed all week but came out on the final day to cheer for her husband. Amy was there on the 18th green to greet her husband Phil after he birdied the last hole to win his third Masters in seven years.

Phil Mickelson Masters

It was quite a moment. Phil, the same man who suspended his PGA golf tour indefinitely last year in May when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Phil had this to say after his emotional win “I wasn’t sure if she was going to be there,”  He shared a long embrace with his wife behind the 18th green, and as he walked to the scoring trailer, a tear trickled down his cheek.

“We’ve been through a lot this year. It means a lot to share some joy together,” Mickelson said, his voice cracking. “It’s been such an incredible week, an emotional week. And to cap it off with a victory is something I can’t put into words. It’s something we’ll share for the rest of our lives.”

Congratulations to Phil and Amy, the true winners in life — courageous fighters and we wish the very best for Amy and hope for a speedy recovery.

As for Tiger Woods, he finished fourth at Augusta. Tiger has won the Masters four times over the years.
