Ny Daily reports, Federal Judge Richard Berman said Tuesday as he sentenced Cameron that too many of the letters he received treated him like a victim.
“Get over that idea,” he said.
The Judge has knocked a big chunk off the 10 years that Douglas could have faced for conspiring to sell crystal meth and cocaine.
Douglas, 31 will serve 60 months in prison, with credit for the eight months he’s already served.
Both his parents, Michael Douglas and Diandra Douglas were in the courtroom during the sentencing.
Cameron spoke briefly “I apologize to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making”
Douglas was arrested in July 2009 at a Manhattan hotel after an informant received a half-pound of crystal meth shipped overnight by him. While Cameron was on house arrest suffering from heroin withdrawal, he begged his girlfriend to bring him drugs, which she smuggled to him in an electric toothbrush. She was caught and arrested and her boyfriend, Douglas was returned to lockup, where he’s been held ever since.
Drug kills and I think Cameron has learnt his lesson well this time. He’s still young when he gets out.
Remember to stay away from drugs!
