American Idol Winner: Lee DeWyze
Lee DeWyze was crowned the new American Idol tonight. DeWyze, the 24-year-old paint store clerk was crowned as season nine winner of American Idol, beating out soulful Crystal Bowersox.

Wednesday’s finale was a two-hour dedication to host judge Simon Cowell who’ll be leaving American Idol. The two-hour finale was scattered with memorable film clips of Cowell faces; very humorous tributes from fellow judges; lots of celebrities performing on stage namely Bret Michaels, Christina Aquilera, Janet Jackson; and best of all a surprise live appearance of ex-judge Paula Abdul.
Paula said, “My darling Simon, I’ve worked with a lot of people over the years, hot cheerleaders, big movie stars, world famous recording artists, even a cartoon cat. But if I’m being truly honest, none of them holds a candle to you, my friend.”
She then sat on Simon’s lap on the judges’ podium. Oh, I miss Paula and I will miss Simon. It just ain’t going to be the same at least for me anyway.
