Robert Downey Jr. says his father started giving him drugs when he was eight years old and didn’t stop. We all know Downey Jr. had a bad history of drug addictions, can we blame him for it? Or what sick dad would give his own kid drugs especially at such tender age?

Downey Jr. says he felt the safest he’s ever been when behind bars. Robert spent time in jail between 1996 and 2001 for drug use and drug possession.
Denver Post reports, Downey Jr says ”When the door clicks shut, then you are safe,” “There is nothing aside from a rogue correctional officer that can do you harm if you have the right cellie. You are actually in the safest place on Earth. Safe from the intruders.”
For Downey,his intruders were his drug addictions; which unbelievably started when his father, Robert Downey Sr., reportedly started giving him drugs when he was just 8 years old, and didn’t stop.
In the new Rolling Stone interview, Downey Jr., 45, talks about everything from doing cocaine with his dad and even with Jack Nicholson, to his eventual downfall into heroin addiction. That is really sad.
Downey says when he was low, he was feeling very low.
He told Rolling Stone:”Smoking dope and smoking coke, you are rendered defenseless. The only way out of that hopeless state is intervention.”
Robert, who’s recovered from drug addictions is looking forward to the future namely “Iron Man 2″ and growing old with his wife, Susan Downey.
Bravo, Robert! And seriously what sick dad/parent would give their kids or anyone’s kids drugs? At the age of 8?
