Russell Brand and Katy Perry skip the bridal registry. Russell was talking about his upcoming wedding to Katy and was his usual funny self, but serious when it came to the topic of gifts. They don’t want anything because they have good jobs and can afford their own things. Well, mostly. His co-stars would like to get him gifts though.
More pictures of Russell and Katy after the vows…
Russell seems like a fun guy. When it comes to his future life with Katy, he has a great sense of humor as well…if you like surprises.
“Given that Katy and I both have good jobs, we don’t want any presents,” Brand, 34, told PEOPLE at last week’s premiere of his latest film, Get Him to the Greek, in Los Angeles. “It would be a massive indulgence.”
However, his costars say otherwise:
Get Him to the Greek writer Nicholas Stoller says Perry, 25, and Brand should also get kitchen essentials. “I would say a waffle maker [and] an espresso machine,” he told PEOPLE – and invest in some high-end hair tools like “a really fancy hair dryer.”
Brand’s costar, Kali Hawk, couldn’t agree more. “[I'd say] diamond, platinum, titanium-encrusted flat irons. And skinny jeans,” she says. “Someone’s got to flatten and curl their hair and keep the pants nice and skinny.”
Now, knowing the two of them, I can see glitter and rhinestones on their kitchen appliances! What do you think Katy and Russell should get for their gifts?

That’s kind of pointless since most guests would bring gifts. We didn’t want gifts but my mom said that relatives would give them either way since it’s one of those traditional things. So we just opened a gift list at myregistry.com and set up several cash gift funds to the charities of our choice. This way no one wasted their money on toasters and quesedilla makers and silverware (we have plenty) and instead made admirable donations to great causes! Katy and Russell should definitely consider having one. Makes it easier on guests too!
(Secretly, though, I hope they end up creating a registry because they probably would include the funnest items! :) )
