Heidi Montag has legally filed for separation from Spencer Pratt. Color us shocked! Wow, Speidi is really taking this plotline for the Hills seriously — or, the pair have (gasp) actually called it quits. Heidi reportedly traveled by herself to a Santa Monica courthouse today and actually filed for a legal separation.

So what does a legal separation actually mean? Well, Spencer won’t be able to get his grubby hands on any of the cash she makes going forward. So all the money she nets from he new reality show with pal Jennifer Bunney is all hers. Go Heidi.
However, the most curious thing about the documents? Heidi revealed that the pair have no debts or assets. This could mean a.) there’s a prenup in place or b.) that’s right — Heidi and Spencer are BROKE.
I bet you anything Spencer squandered all their money and she’s poured all her cash into surgery. I don’t doubt the two are broke.
