Justin usually has to be home by 10 pm and his mom takes his computer away by 10:30 every night. Justin taught himself how to play the piano, guitar, drums and trumpet. Now that’s talented!

Justin Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, was 18 when she was pregnant with her son. Bieber was raised by his mother Mallette, who had low-paying office jobs, though Bieber maintains contact with his father.
As he grew older, he taught himself to play various musical instruments including the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. In late 2007, Justin came second in a local competition singing Ne-Yo’s ‘So Sick’; his mother Mallette posted a video of his performance on YouTube for their family and friends to see. She continued to upload videos of Bieber singing different R&B songs, and Bieber’s popularity on YouTube really started to fly.
Scooter Braun, a former marketing executive of So So Def accidently clicked on one of Bieber’s videos. He was so impressed and he tracked down Bieber’s mother Mallette. Mother Mallette was at first reluctant but eventually allowed Braun to fly Bieber, then 13, to Atlanta, Georgia to record demo tapes. A week after arriving in Atlanda, Bieber sang for Usher who arranged an audition with Island Def Jam Music Group, who in turn signed Bieber to Island Records in October 2008. And the rest is history!
