Happy Canada Day everyone! Oh and Happy HST Day as well! It’s July 1st in case if you didn’t know, the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) will replace the PST (Provincial Tax) for both Ontario and British Columbia. In the case of us in Vancouver, instead of seeing a 7% PST with the 5% GST, we’ll be seeing the HST of 12% sounds simple and dandy?
Not really! For some services which used to charge just the 5% GST, you’ll be paying a 12% from today including your haircut.
Well.. let’s focus on the fireworks instead, which starts at 10:30pm tonight in Vancouver and parada at 7.
