Mel Gibson’s team says the tapes were edited. Mel’s people have come out and said the tapes were fake, even though Mel has not denied it was him. Huh? Why wouldn’t he deny it is him instead of just saying the tapes were altered.

Sources tell TMZ … Mel Gibson’s lawyers claim to have hard evidence the tapes Oksana Grigorieva secretly recorded have been tampered with and edited, which, if true, would make them inadmissible in a court of law.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will have to authenticate the tapes before sending the case to the D.A.’s Office, and that could take time.
As we first reported, Mel’s lawyers will be presenting evidence to the Sheriff’s Department and we’re told among the evidence they will present — that the tapes have been altered. We’re told Mel’s lawyers will present “concrete forensic evidence” of tampering with the tapes, including editing.
Even though Mel’s team is reporting edits, experts on morning news shows today analyzed the tapes and say they are unedited. Oksana’s voice is clear because she is close to the microphone and Mel is away from her, which makes his voice distorted. Do you think Mel will go to jail over this incident?

Mel’s goons might not be thrilled by the ‘unedited’ version either.I heard that in one of them a high pitched female voice can be heard shrieking: ‘You’re nothing but a pompous, bullying old fart–phew! You should blow yourself.’ Inadmissible, of course (because it’s the truth) but still not flattering to their client.
In any case, they would do anything they could to sabotage the truth, wouldn’t they?
