Jodie Foster is still loyal to Mel Gibson. Jodie Foster opened up to More magazine about her old friend Mel Gibson‘s recent fall from grace. As we all know, Mel Gibson has had a hard time staying out of the news after details of his messy split with girlfriend Oksana.

Regardless of every racist, misogynist slur Foster is convinced that he’s just going through a rocky period and is still a top-notch kind of a guy. She said:
“The second I met him [working on 'Maverick' in 1994], I said, ‘I will love this man for the rest of my life. When you love a friend, you don’t abandon them when they’re struggling … But more importantly, he is and has been a true and loyal friend. I hope I can get him through this dark moment.”
