Anderson Cooper has successfully gotten the word “gay” removed from a movie trailer. An upcoming Vince Vaughn movie called The Dilemma, features the actor telling a group of businessmen that “electric cars are gay.” Of course, it was a typical Vince Vaughn movie and meant to express something as lame/out of fashion, not homosexual.
Universal Pictures was quick to tell the press that in no way did they intend to upset the gay/lesbian community with the word. However, after Cooper emphasized how sensitive homosexual issues have been in the news these days the company decided to remove the word.
Anderson Cooper (who is rumored to be gay) appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show (who is a lesbian) and said that such words are “hurting kids.”
What do you think? Should Universal have taken the word “gay” out of the trailer.
