David Beckham fell victim to the yucky economy too. David’s endorsement deal with his own company fell by 9% from year ago today. And for someone like David, 9% of a gabillion dollars is a lot of money. OK, not quite a gabillion…but close.
David took a pay cut of approximately…$3 million dollars from Footwork Productions because their profits fell. Gee, David probably has that much in his pocket each day. From the Economic Times:
He is one of the highest paid sportsmen in the world but soccer heartthrob David Beckham had to take a whopping $3 million pay cut after his company’s profits dipped.
The turnover of his company Footwork Production has witnessed a slump, going down to $17.1 million (2010) from $23.2 million (2005).
The footballer who is married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, received a salary of $16.2 million in 2009 but due to the decline in profits he received only $13.5 million this year, reported Daily Mirror online.
Seriously, I bet he wouldn’t even notice such a paltry sum of money. But some of us will take years and years to make that kind of cash! What would you spend $3 million dollars on?
