The Hangover cast forced Mel Gibson out of his just announced cameo role. Mel’s friend Jodie Foster confirmed the news – probably way too soon – and jinxed it for Mel. Once the cast of Bradley Cooper and company heard, they weren’t having any of it.

So I guess Mel isn’t being rewarded for his bad behavior. Does this mean he is still the most loved in Hollywood, like Jodie also suggested? From Celebuzz:

I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

This news comes one day after Zach Galifianakis, the first film’s breakout star, made a very public, if cryptic, statement on the podcast Comedy Death-Ray, saying: “I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen] … I’m not making any leeway.”

Sounds like there was conflict on the casting to begin with. Do you agree with the decision to cut Mel from the movie?
