PETA members say they won’t throw blood on Victoria Beckham over her use of animal skins. Victoria’s new line includes a bunch of shoes and handbags made out of lizard and crocodile skin. Ooops. Victoria should have thought about fake skins!
Peta so far is still friendly with her. They have requested she watch a tape of animal cruelty to lizards before they are skinned. From Daily News & Analysis:
Affirming the news, David Perle, PETA US, says, “We appreciate Victoria Beckham’s rejection of fur (earlier) and had approached her respectfully over the suffering of lizards and other reptiles who are often skinned alive for fashion.” The organisation is awaiting a reply from her. Meanwhile, the issue has gathered steam over earlier reports in a British tabloid that suggested that PETA was going to douse Beckham in lizard blood at a public appearance, leaving PETA members outraged. “It’s an absolutely false story. PETA is not going to throw any blood on Victoria,” states Sachin Bangera, spokesperson of PETA India.
You know there is some whack job out there who was just given the idea by reading that story. Look out Victoria, because it will probably happen sooner rather than later now. Do you think Victoria should eliminate the use of animal skins from her fashion line?
