BEN AFFLECK Bio
BEN AFFLECK is an actor, film director, writer, and producer. Affleck became famous with his performances in the Kevin Smith films Mallrats (1995) and Chasing Amy (1997). His crowning jewel, however, was Good Will Hunting (1997); Affleck received an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award for his superb acting. The movie was written with the talented childhood friend, Matt Damon.
Affleck has played the lead in numerous big-budget films including Armageddon(1998), Pearl Harbor (2001), The Sum of All Fears (2002), and Daredevil (2003).
Affleck is a critically world acclaimed film director. He directed Gone Baby Gone (2007) and The Town (2010). He played the lead in The Town. He has collaborated with his brother, actor Casey Affleck, on projects, such as Good Will Hunting and Gone Baby Gone.
Ben has been married to Jennifer Garner since June 2005. They have two daughters, Violet Anne, born December 2005, and Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, born January 2009. In the early 200s, his romance with actress/singer Jennifer Lopez attracted the focus of the worldwide media, and they were daily in all the Hollywood gossip news before splitting up in 2004.
Affleck has been actively involved in politics and is very philanthropic. He and his childhood friend, Matt Damon, also own the production company Live Planet.
