Kesha won her very first award over the weekend at the European Music Awards and wasted no time cracking a joke to the audience. A…killer joke that is.
While accepting her award for Best New Act, the singer stormed off the podium and said:
“[This is] the first thing I’ve ever won!” she told MTV News moments after striding off the EMA stage. “Except for when I was in high school, and I won the award for ‘Most likely to be a serial killer,’ which I have not fulfilled yet — just wait for my breakdown.”
However, this mental breakdown she speaks of probably won’t happen anytime soon. Kesha feels pretty peaceful and loved these days.
“[Winning] is amazing, because I was under the assumption that everybody hated me for a long time. And then I stopped going on the Internet, and since then, about six months ago, apparently people started liking me, and then I got this award.”
