Nick Lachey speaks out on Jessica Simpson’s surprise engagement, he wishes nothing but the best for his ex-wife Jessica who got engaged to former football player, Eric Johnson a week after Lachey popped the question to his girlfriend of 5-year, Vanessa Minnillo.
Nick told US Magazine earlier today during a conference call for his NBC show “The Sing-Off”, “I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best.”
As for Nick and Vanessa, he’s “very exciting” to see “what the future brings to us.”
As to why it took him this long to propose, “All things have their appropriate time, so thank you.”
When asked how Jess felt about Nick’s engagement,she told radio host Ryan Seacrest last week: “Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best.”
Nick and Jessica wed in 2002 and split up 3 years later.
Honestly and seriously, it’s long over between Nick and Jessica so let’s not dwell on it anymore.
