Angelina Jolie is directing and filming a movie in Bosnia about the Balkans conflict and has received a significant amount of flack from the locals. While we don’t know too much about the flick, we do know it has romantic undertones and the romance is supposedly about a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who fall in love.
While Bosnians have told their local papers and international news outlets that they think the storyline is inappropriate and Jolie shouldn’t create a movie about a subject matter she knows so little about, she denies all these claims. Despite the fact she was told to stop filming in Bosnia, causing her crew to pack up to Budapest, she’s convinced everything is hunky dory.
“There’s one person who has a gripe,” Jolie said.”The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive…there are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters.”
