Ryan Reynolds filed for divorce from Scarlett Johansson today. Although the legions of ScarJo haters and Ryan Reynolds sympathizers out there were hoping for a messy split, it looks like the two have decided to part ways amicably.
A few things of note about the filing. For starters, there was no prenuptial agreement when the two wed in 2008 and neither actor will receive spousal support.
Also, and I guess this makes sense, Ryan Reynolds earned more during the marriage than ScarJo. Scarlett was busy rehearsing and performing on Broadway (which is famously low-paid), while Reynolds racked up some pretty impressive credits in Hollywood co-starring with Sandra Bullock in The Proposal, starring in X-Men and this winter’s Green Lantern.
Both site the date of their separation as December 14th.
