Shania Twain is engaged to Frederic Thiebaud. On the surface it’s absolutely wonderful that 45-year-old Shania Twain found love. If you dig a bit deeper, the situation seems…eh, shady at best.
Some background info: Frederic Thiebaud is the ex-husband of Shania‘s former best friend, Marie-Ann Thiebaud. Marie-Ann and Shania had a famous falling out after, oh, Marie-Ann stole her husband Robert Lange back in 2008. Yeah – awkward.
Shania then got even with Frederic and it looks like doing the ultimate reality version of Wife Swap worked out for both parties. Shania‘s friends say:
“I’ve never seen Shania so happy…she has ended up with the love of her life.” Shania seconds this writing on her personal website: “a dear friend and true gentleman…We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We’ve become stronger and closer through it all.”
Odd, huh? Switching husbands with my friend is something I’d be a bit embarrassed about, but to each their own.
