Christian Slater Dead?
Is Christian Slater dead? Nope – not so fast. Stop the presses on the memorial magazine issues. Christian Slater was the victim of a celebrity death hoax today, with several news sites claiming the 41-year-old actor died in a snowboarding accident this weekend. Grizzly!
Slater, instead, is alive and well. As The New York Daily News points out, a snowboarding accident seems to be a favorite amongst the fake Hollywood death set. Indeed, this was the way in which Owen Wilson and Eddie Murphy were rumored to have bit the dust also.
So what do the media elite have to say about this trend of celebrity fake deaths? The site responsible for Slater‘s rumor said:
“It is dark comedy, done in poor taste, I’m guilty of that but the intent is not to be hurtful to one’s character. I try to make it very easy to dispel the myth….The fans do get upset and get their feathers ruffled more than the celebrities.”
Eh. Sounds like a cop put and cheap plow for traffic!
