Charlie Sheen has offered to pay his crew during his rehab absence. There was a lot of controversy when it was announced Charlie would be gone for three months – because that would mean his show would have to stop production. When shows stop taping, the crew does not get paid.

Charlie must have heard the outcry, because yesterday he offered to pay their salaries while – if – he was gone.

The latest rumor concerning Charlie Sheen is actually a good one: TMZ says the drug-addled actor is willing to pay one-third of salaries for the Two and a Half Men crew while he’s working through at-home rehab. The site said he’d go in on a three-way deal with Warner Bros. and CBS to make sure the workers are paid while he’s laid up. TMZ also says Sheen wants to go back to work on Monday, but CBS insists no one has asked the network to pay up for anything, and the crew is far from ready to go back to shooting, anyway.

Charlie must be taking things seriously if he really did offer to pay them. That’s a pretty big chunk of money to pay the whole crew…but then when you are paid two million per episode yourself, maybe it’s not so bad!
