Christina Aguilera has released a statement in regards to her messing up the National Anthem at the Super Bowl last night. Twitter and Facebook lit up as soon as she missed the lines of the song…and Christina heard the outcry. Her performance will be remembered as the one that…missed.
Christina or her people sent out a statement to do some damage control. It actually might work too, because it sounds sincere and real.
Aguilera has addressed her performance in a statement to the Associated Press. “I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through,” she said.
Who wouldn’t be nervous singing that song in that setting? Billions of people watching…any pro could screw it up. Give the girl kudos because she was doing it live and not lip syncing! Christina is not the first person to miss words…Roseanne Barr slaughtered a version once…other people have forgotten words too, just not at that sitting.

One of the worst renditions anyone will ever hear. I’d rather listen to a screaming duck
I just watched Christina Aguilera sing the national anthem and it was terrible. I know she is an entertainer and I know someone had to ask her to sing the song, but we need people to sing that song who know how to sing it. For one thing that sonq was written to be sung a certain way. Singing it like you are singing on American Ideal is wrong and needs to be stopped. Expressing your personal style can happen some place else, not our national anthem. In addition, I do not buy she was nervous to the point she forgot the words. Enough is enough!
