Keri Hilson, Gabrielle Union and Real Housewives star Cynthia Bailey all came out for Derek Fabulous’s It Gets Better Lounge this past week. The It Gets Better Project was started this past September after a string of teenage suicides resulted from extreme bullying.

Hollywood was quick to jump on the campaign because, as lifestyle guru Derek “Fabulous” Warburton and host of the New York City event says:

“Everybody in the entertainment industry started out as an outsider. Creative people were different than others in school… For everyone out there who believes in us, there’s someone else who doesn’t.”

Indeed, Keri Hilson, Gabrielle Union, Judith Light and countless other celebrities have all uploaded videos chock-full of inspirational talk for teenagers currently struggling with being bullied.

Gabrielle Union for her part remembers when she was taunted for being the only African American student and Keri Hilson was mocked for her singing passion.
