Justin Bieber turns 17 this week, but instead of spending a boatload of cash on a splashy birthday party, he’d like all his fans to donate cash to charity. Awww – what’s not to love about the Biebs!
We all know Justin is a die-hard Christian, so this latest stunt follows along nicely with the singer’s good behavior. Indeed, Bieber would like everyone to donate money to a charity aimed to supply clean water in developing nations. He asks that fans donate $17 in celebration of his 17th birthday.
“Together, we’ve made a big difference for many causes. Did you know that about 4,500 kids die each day from waterborne disease? By building clean water projects for villages that need them, we can prevent this! I want to make my birthday matter this year — let’s make it so more kids can grow up to have a 17th birthday like me. Join me to make a change. Even if you don’t have $17 to give I just ask you to go out in your community and try and make a positive difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can go a long way.”
