Kobe Bryant is the first non-actor to get a Hollywood Star. The NBA basketball player has 5 NBA Championships to his name, but no acting credits. OK, one small acting credit! I bet a bunch of other athletes would like a star too!
Kobe has played for some big name teams. Sure, he’s won championships, but is it the same? Is he deserving of a Walk of Fame Star though?
“I feel like I’ve grown up in this city, and we’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but here we are—five championships, plenty of more to go, and I just feel extremely honored to be able to do this,” Bryant said during the ceremony for the event.
While Bryant’s block will join the likes of Marilyn Monroe and George Clooney, the sports star told fans not to expect an acting career from him anytime soon (Black Mamba aside, of course).
What athletes do you think should be considered for their own stars? David Beckham? Brett Favre? A Rod? There are tons that have big “LA” lifestyles, so they’ll probably be asking their agents about getting one, don’t ya think?
