What are the reasons behind Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’ split? We have just reported that Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce from her husband of nearly three years. So what really caused the split? Just the other day, the couple and their toddler were out and about together looking like a happy family. What gives?
Ashlee filed for divorce because she can’t handle Pete’s crazy behavior? One source very familiar with the situation tells TMZ.com, “It’s really all about Pete’s erratic behavior.” The source adds, “She really wanted out.”
However sources connected with Wentz tell TMZ otherwise, Ashlee’s claim that Pete was just too erratic is b.s. — and they simply grew apart.
According to one connected source, “After Bronx was born Ashlee made a conscious decision to get out of the business, but Pete’s heart was in music so he kept touring and that became a big issue in their relationship.”
A conflict has already emerged, sources tell TMZ Pete wants joint legal and physical custody of Bronx and in Ashlee’s divorce papers, she’s asking for primary physical custody.
She has also the court restore her name to Ashlee Nicole Simpson. Ashlee formally changed her name to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz less than a month after marrying Wentz back in 2008.
There was no third party involved. Can anyone ever works things out these days? Sigh.

Why would they file for divorced they were such a cute couple two rockers rocking out wow. I’m defantly surprised. I did not even know that they were married well up until now i just thought that they were going out
i always thought they were pretty close. ive heard so many different stories on the ‘net’ so id wait until its official, ive been watching this story since 2009 and nothings happened yet
