SNOOKI Aka NICOLE POLIZZI is a spunky Chilean-American reality television personality ( all of 4’9” tall), who’s best known for starring on the MTV reality show Jersey Shore since its debut in 2009.
Snooki became part of the reality TV series Jersey Shore after being scouted by the casting director. The New York Times identified her as “the breakout member of the cast.”
Snooki was adopted when she was six months old and was raised by Italian American parents. As for her nickname, Snooki? She was the first one to kiss a boy among her friends during a school dance in middle school so her friends named her after “Snookie,” a male character in Save the Last Dance.
The pint-sized reality star’s popularity on the first season of Jersey Shore, catapulted her from $5,000 per episode to $30,000 per episode.
While shooting in Seaside Heights during the first season of Jersey Shore, Snooki was punched in the face by a New York City school teacher. The attack was deleted from future showings of the episode. However, videos of the punch wild on YouTube and were featured in many entertainment news media. After the punch went public, Snooki‘s appearance fees skyrocketed from $2,000 per event to $10,000 per event.
